The Family Singers and the Adult Singing Group welcome anyone in the congregation who has sung in a group in the past, has been a soloist, has thought about singing in a group, or has simply had a hankering to sing in a group to join us this fall in bringing music to our church community.
You need only a few qualifications: the ability to carry a tune (if you can sing “Happy Birthday,” you’re in); a desire to make music with others in our community; a general love of all kinds of music; and a good sense of humor. There is no audition required.
The Family Singers began last September consists of about 12 people. We would love to expand to a much greater number. This group is open to everyone of all ages, including parents with their children, individuals, and friends outside the church. We sing a variety of music that is fairly simple to learn. You do not need to be able to read music. African proverb: If you can talk, you can sing!
The Singing Group has been together for several years, and we would love to welcome new participants. More is usually better when singing in a group. We sing music from a variety of sources, from simple to challenging, encompassing classical, folk, ethnic, pop, and beyond. We meet most Sundays at 9 a.m. before the service.
