Please join us this Sunday, October 26, at 10:30 a.m., when the Rev. Charles Wilson will deliver a sermon on “The Ground Beneath Our Feet.”
Rev. Wilson will compare two kinds of religion in America: religion as conversation-stopper, the popular kind that gives you salvation from sin and definite non-negotiable answers to questions that may not be your own, versus liberal religion that is a path of inquiry, transformer of persons, and an agency of democratic ideals.
At this moment we are in a historical cycle that feels like another movement of liberation from narrow and selfish religious goals toward inclusive social goals. Maybe. What can we do about it?
Charles is a retired Unitarian Universalist minister, and, in the late 1960s, was our first settled minister. He and his wife, Hilde Wilson, are now members of our church.
Our service will be followed at about 11:45 a.m. by coffee and fellowship. As always, visitors are welcome.
