Celebrating women’s suffrage

The theme of our service this Sunday, November 30, will be “The Thrill of the Polls!” Listen in on a conversation between two determined women — the Rev. Olympia Brown (Universalist), age 85, and the Rev. Antoinette Blackwell (Unitarian), age 95 — as they remember and rejoice.

The women will be portrayed by our guest ministers, the Rev. Dorothy Boroush and the Rev. Janet Bowering.

The conversation between the aged ministers takes place in the context of their having survived to cast their vote at last — in the presidential election of 1920. They remember and rejoice in a discussion that is bittersweet, humorous, even lamentable.

Be with them in their exultation. This is a fictional dialogue between two elderly fighters — in costume — that will inform and inspire and, we hope, prompt questions.

Our service will begin at 10:30 a.m., followed by coffee and fellowship at about 11:45. Visitors are always welcome.
