A special music service this Sunday

Jim Scott

Jim Scott, a Unitarian Universalist musician and composer, will be our guest speaker/performer this Sunday, January 25.

Over the past 24 years Jim has visited approximately 500 UU churches across the United States, Canada, and Britain, leading services, providing special music for services, presenting benefit concerts, and offering workshops. Jim is also a contributing composer to both our UU hymnals.

Years of activism are reflected in Jim’s work. His songs, poetry, and short stories address issues of ecology, justice, and peace with insight and gentle wit. As a member of the Paul Winter Consort, Jim was co-creator of the monumental choral work “Missa Gaia/Earth Mass.”

Formerly the co-chair of the UU Ministry for Earth, Jim helped create the “Green Sanctuary” program.

Our service will begin at 10:30 a.m., followed by coffee and fellowship at about 11:30. We offer child care and a full religious education program. Visitors are always welcome.
