John Merson on the lessons of war

lessonsofwarOur guest speaker this Sunday, October 11, will be John Merson, author of the book War Lessons: How I Fought to Be a Hero and Learned That War Is Terror. Mr. Merson is a veteran of the Vietnam War. He speaks at many churches and other organizations about recovering from the experiences of war.

Jan Scruggs, founder and board chair of the Vietnam Veterans Memorial Foundation, says of Mr. Merson’s book:

War Lessons is a timeless exploration of the horror and excitement of war for the individual soldier, as indelible as the scars war leaves on the soldier’s soul. The book is one that should be read by everyone who cares about the fate and future of our nation’s defenders.

Our service will begin at 10:30 a.m., followed by coffee and fellowship at about 11:30. We offer a Religious Education Program and child care. Visitors are always welcome.
