The elusive joy of kindness

The theme of the Reverend Frieda Gillespie’s sermon this Sunday, November 22, will be “Kindness,” based on Adam Phillips and Barbara Taylor’s book On Kindness, which traces the decline in recent decades in the practice of kindness.

According to Phillips and Taylor, committing acts of kindness is one of the greatest joys in life. What keeps us from allowing ourselves the joy of kind actions?

Also this Sunday, we will collect Guest at Your Table boxes.

The service will begin at 10:30 a.m., followed by coffee and fellowship at about 11:30. Child care and religious-education classes are available. Visitors are always welcome.
