It takes a lot of work to maintain a church. Some of it is exciting “missional”-type work like teaching a religious-education class, leading a circle dance, or planning a social action event. Other parts are more about keeping the lights on and making sure the building is in good shape.
Our minister, the Reverend Frieda Gillespie, will talk about service this Sunday, June 12, in a sermon titled “Service Is Our Prayer.” She explains: “Much of the work is done by you the congregation as volunteers. What do you get out of all that effort? We’ll explore that question together.”
After church there will be a Volunteer Fair in the Meeting Room where you can receive goodies and information from each of the groups that do so much for us. We will give out the Anne Milender and Frank Farnum Awards for service to Northshore Church and the greater community. Bring your gratitude and interest in joining in. Try something new this coming year.
The service will begin at 10:30 a.m., followed by coffee and fellowship at about 11:30. Visitors are always welcome.
