This Sunday, October 9, we will celebrate Association Sunday by supporting the work of our larger Unitarian Universalist denomination. Laura Graham, a member of the Massachusetts Bay District Board of Directors, will be joining us as our guest speaker.
At the request of our minister, the Reverend Frieda Gillespie, the collection will be donated to the Unitarian Universalist Association of Congregations (UUA). Association Sundays are a time for all congregations to recognize and support, both in spirit and financially, the national work of the UUA.
The theme of Association Sunday 2011 is Celebrating Excellence in Ministries. Donations to Association Sunday 2011 will support scholarships, continuing education, and a comprehensive assessment of our ministries and their needs for the future. Grants from Association Sunday 2011 funds will help religious professionals get ongoing training to support thriving congregations. If you would like to donate by check, please make out the check to the UUA.
The service will begin at 10:30 a.m., followed at 11:30 by coffee and fellowship, and then by our multi-generational Religious Education Program, which will be held from noon to 12:45 p.m. Visitors are always welcome.
