This Sunday’s service: “Immigration”

Immigration rally in New York City, 2007

Issues surrounding immigration and reform are complex and pervasive. Our General Assembly in Arizona last June focused on these issues, engaging with the Arizona police to support the efforts of reformers.

Our service this Sunday, October 7, will offer stories from Justice GA and possible directions for us to get involved, says our minister, the Reverend Frieda Gillespie. The collection will be given to the Unitarian Universalist Association in recognition of Association Sunday — a time for all congregations to recognize and support, both in spirit and financially, the national work of the UUA.

The service will begin at 10:30 a.m., followed by coffee and fellowship at about 11:30. Visitors are always welcome.

Also this Sunday, please bring a nonperishable food item for the Danvers People-to-People Food Pantry (pdf). Donations can be left in the basket in the Fellowship Hall. You are, of course, also welcome and encouraged to bring food donations at any other time it is convenient for you.
