In 1988 The Pee-wee Herman Show hosted a Christmas special. During the show a big box arrived and out came Grace Jones who thought she’d be singing to the President. Not bothered by the mix-up, she asks if she can sing The Little Drummer Boy. Grace’s message strangely reminds me of Henry David Thoreau’s quote, If a man does not keep pace with his companions, perhaps it is because he hears a different drummer. Let him step to the music which he hears, however measured or far away.” As we prepare our hearts for a new President, how may our theology inspire us as we try to keep pace? Please join us for worship and fellowship.
