This Sunday’s Service – Martin Luther’s Blazing Questions

July 9 Service at 10:30 AM

Reverend Charles Wilson

October 31, 2017 is the 500th anniversary of the Protestant Reformation!

It was started by Martin Luther, a preaching friar who belonged to the largest Catholic religious order of his day, the Hermits of St. Augustine.

I will talk about a few of the incendiary questions he raised about the nature of the  Christian faith,  From Luther’s provocative challenge to the Roman Catholic church and its mercenary system of indulgences quickly came the movement called the Reformation  That movement split European Christendom into a thousand pieces.  Our church is one piece that emerged and flourishes, phoenix like, out of the fires that Luther ignited in 1517.

I greatly admire Luther and will try to tell you why I want to celebrate him this year.
