Rev. Charles Wilson & Peter VanDeBogert
On October 31, 1517 Martin Luther, Augustinian monk and professor of theology in the University of Wittenberg, posted 95 theses for disputation against certain practices of the Roman Catholic Church. This simple act to reform the Roman Catholic Church launched a schism in the church which was the Protestant Reformation. As a result, not only was the Roman Church broken apart, but European states began to develop democratic forms of government. The consequences would have been unimaginable to the early reformers. Peter VanDeBogert and Rev. Charles Wilson will help us explore how the Protestant Reformation is a beginning of the Unitarian Universalist liberal way of practicing religious faith.
We welcome Theresa Orr as our guest piano soloist.
