This Sunday’s Service – Worth Fighting For

July 1 Service at 10:30 AM

Rev. Julie Lombard, Minister

On July 1, 1863, the United States of America was divided and at war in the Battle of Gettysburg, Pennsylvania; General Lee’s northward advance was halted by the Union Army. At times we worry about the current status of our divided nation, but what can we learn from looking back at the Civil War? Was God on the battlefield or turned off at the sight of brother fighting brother? What wisdom might we gain from the tumult of that era? What ounce of hope encouraged those Americans to not give up? What was worth fighting for then and what is worth fighting for now?
