October 18 Service at 10:30 AM in the Church and on Zoom
Rev. Dr. Betsy Waters, Guest Speaker
Sona Minasian, Music Director
What happens when an ordinary moment suddenly becomes more than ordinary? A song, a sunset, the birth of a child, a moment in nature, a profound encounter with another person—or even, as in the story of Moses, a bush that seems to burn without being consumed. We are offered moments of transcendence more often than we may realize. The question is whether we recognize them, whether we allow ourselves to receive them, and whether we let them change the story we tell about the world and about our own lives. This Sunday, we’ll explore what happens when we pay attention to those moments—and what they might ask of us.
Rev. Dr. Betsy Waters is a coach, a UCC pastor, and a longtime companion to people navigating the messy, meaningful work of life and leadership. With more than four decades in ministry, education, and psychology, she has learned that people are both more complicated and more resilient than they first appear.
